About me

 From nothing to something. That's what it's about when making music and where I get my energy from.
 I am Walter Schreibeld, also known as Conwald. I am a Dutch composer, musician and producer of pop music.
I was born in the Netherlands to a musical family. My father played accordion, my mother played guitar, accordion and piano and my sister also played piano. I myself played violin, with which I played in a classical orchestra and a folk music ensemble. You can say that I am classically trained in the first instance.

From the 80s I became interested in pop music. My heroes were Queen, the Pet Shop Boys, Aha and other bands that made pop songs with a beautiful atmosphere and a catchy melody.
 In 1992 I bought my first synthesizer. A musical world opened up for me. What a sounds! With a music program on the computer the synthesizer could be controlled with which composing started. Shortly after that I bought a sound module with no less than 2000 sounds and from that time on I composed a lot of songs. The songs were never released. However, I continued working on them.

A lot has changed in recent years. I now work with what I consider the perfect Digital Audio Workstation. The songs have beautiful lyrics, and I collaborate with fantastic musicians and singers. Things have finally come full circle!
